Description of Geriatric Kinesiology Taping Practitioner Certification
This Certification Course introduces the concept of movement therapy and performance enhancement via functional taping methods with the geriatric population. Tape applications will be discussed for all levels of geriatrics, stroke, balance disorders, total joint replacement and osteoarthritis patients. Additionally, this course includes a review of the current literature supporting the theory of kinesiology taping for the purposes of rehabilitation, edema/swelling management, neuropathic pain, scar and postural management.
This course is intended for practitioners and therapists with all levels of experience with taping.
Objectives
- Define and discuss the geriatric population and their needs.
- Define, discuss and consider concepts of myofascial chains as an approach to treatment for a multitude of ageing conditions.
- Discuss and communicate the physiological effects of kinesiology taping.
